The ‘Wired for AI’ report by Ernst & Young (EY) ranked Poland seventh among economies with the highest annual production capacity generated from technology support, alongside the EU, the US, UK and Switzerland.

According to the analysis, AI will enable Poland to achieve a manufacturing value equivalent to the work of 4.9 million people, with the potential to gain up to 90 billion U.S. dollars a year.

"Businesses will benefit from the rapid implementation of artificial intelligence, and with them the entire economy,” the report said: It added: “EY-Parthenon experts estimate that the capital investment and productivity gains could amount to between 1.2 and 2.4 trillion U.S. dollars in additional global output over a decade, translating into GDP growth of 1.5-2.5%.”

The report went on to say that although in Poland almost one in two jobs (49%) will benefit from the implementation of artificial intelligence, only 32% will truly benefit.

This, says the report, is due to the percentage of jobs in the country that have advanced digital solutions available.

Countries expecting the biggest gains are Luxembourg, the UK and Iceland.

In Central and Eastern European countries, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia fare better than Poland.

Radoslaw Franczak, a partner at EY Poland, said that "several factors will determine how big a transformation awaits us in the coming years.

“The openness of companies to the benefits of artificial intelligence, as well as the willingness of employees to improve their digital competences, will be key."

He added that “additionally, the presence of efficient infrastructure in individual countries will be of no small importance.”

“One of the fundamental issues for the development of AI remains the expansion of the global 5G network, which has great potential to accelerate the development of the global economy.

“Business should now focus on tracking down the areas where new technology will most quickly help generate financial and organizational benefits.”
