Residents and history enthusiasts alike will soon have the chance to step back in time and witness Warsaw as it appeared nearly a century ago.

Scheduled for release by the end of June, a two-minute Virtual Reality 360 video will transport viewers to iconic locations such as the intersection of Aleje Jerozolimskie and Marszałkowska Street.

Ernest Rogalski, one of the creators behind this initiative, said that the project does not rely on artificial intelligence but instead meticulously reconstructs the cityscape to maintain authenticity.

The only thing to do to access this digital time capsule is to stand in the designated spots in central Warsaw. These zones were chosen strategically, with landmarks like the Polonia Hotel serving as reference points due to their unchanged architectural form. The ambition extends beyond mere nostalgia; it aims to preserve and share Warsaw's cultural heritage, including significant sites like Bankowy Square, where the former town hall and historical synagogue will be digitally resurrected.

The project's creators envision future advancements where special goggles could enhance the experience further, offering a comprehensive glimpse into historical Warsaw.

While the exact release date remains pending, Ernest Rogalski assured that the video will be rendered and set for publication soon, potentially within the coming days.
