In Aleksandrów (Śląskie province, Kłobuck county), a tree fell on railway tracks and tore down an overhead line, causing an express train from the southern city of Kraków to the coastal city of Kołobrzeg to be left stranded in the field, along with approximately 160 passengers, of whom some 10 were of limited mobility.
Twenty-five firefighters and six engines from PSP and Volunteer Firefighting Service (OSP) were called to the spot, with the firemen helping the passengers to a replacement bus service several hundred meters away.
The Institute of Meteorology issued a second-degree storm warning for the southern provinces of Małopolskie, Łódzkie, Śląskie, Świętokrzyskie, and Podkarpackie.
Simultaneously, a second-degree high-temperature warning has been issued for most of the rest of the country.
