Founded in the 14th century by King Kazimierz III the Great, Jagiellonian University in Kraków says the new AI course will be a full-time program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science.

Posting on its website, the university said: “The goal of Artificial Intelligence Studies is to prepare AI specialists—programmers specializing in modern and innovative methods related to machine learning and advanced neural networks.

“Specifically, during the studies, students will learn programming in Python, building neural networks in the PyTorch environment, and processing images and natural language using deep neural networks.

“Upon completion of the studies, graduates will be well-prepared to work in international innovative companies that utilize artificial intelligence methods, making them sought-after specialists in an increasing number of job market sectors.”

Expecting the course to be in high demand, the university is only accepting applications from students with advanced qualifications in mathematics and computer science.

With only 20 places available, two of which will be for foreign students, the university added that only the most talented students will be accepted.
