The restrictions, which will be in effect from 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM each day, extend to both carriage parking and passage through the historic square. Additionally, the temporary carriage stops on ul. Mikołajska, near St. Mary's Basilica, will be inactive during this period.

Authorities cited safety concerns for both carriage operators and their animals as the primary reason behind these measures. They recommend utilizing designated shaded parking areas, such as those near Barbican and along the alleys at Planty Park.

Officials also reminded operators of the need for regular hydration of the horses, and to stay updated of the weather forecasts.

Meteorologists from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management have issued a second-level heat warning for Kraków and the northern part of the Małopolskie province from Wednesday to Friday, forecasting daytime temperatures between 30 to 33 degrees Celsius.
