The Stalker 5.0, approximately 5 meters long and 1.2 meters wide, is primarily designed for transporting cargo in its watertight compartment, ideal for weapons, equipment, and provisions.
Besides cargo transport, it can also be adapted for other military tasks, such as kamikaze missions with 150 kilograms of explosives onboard. It can also be used for surveillance along rivers and coastal areas.
Equipped with a 60-horsepower gasoline engine, the drone can reach speeds of up to 40 knots (74 km/h) and has an operational range of 600 kilometers.
Its guidance system uses Starlink for stable video broadcasting, even in areas with limited communication.
With a unit price of around $60,000, way cheaper than similar machines, the drone will be a cost-effective addition to Ukraine’s naval arsenal.
The affordability of such drones allows for their frequent use in large numbers, potentially in swarms, against smaller targets.
This strategy mirrors the success of Ukraine’s aerial drones and complicates Russia’s defensive measures, as the integration of sea drones with missile strikes has already forced much of the Russian Black Sea fleet to relocate from its home ports.
