Flizak, who later joined the American 101st Airborne, told TVP World: “Every year I come here in my U.S. uniform, which I am very proud of - but underneath it beats a Polish heart.”
He added: “I come here to salute my colleagues that are buried here - including one of my dearest friends who was barely 18-years-old [when he died].”
Flizak also spoke about his early life, revealing how Siberian exile led him to join the Anders Army as well as his remarkable wartime journey to find his father.
