According to information obtained by BYPOL, an organization uniting hundreds of incumbent and former security officers looking to restore the rule of law and order in Belarus, the country’s regime is preparing a mass assault on the border in the coming days, involving up to 800 people, in an attempt to force migrants into Polish territory.

They are reportedly being transported from Minsk secretly at night in private cars driven by OMON officers - the militia’s preventive units. They form groups of 25–30 people and are deployed in border protection bases. Among them are also women. A representative of each group is subordinate to a Belarusian officer.

Belarusian OMON officers were also involved in earlier attempts to illegally cross the border, as well as clashes with Polish and Lithuanian border guards. The officers received special training under the guidance of mercenaries from the Russian Wagner Group at a training ground in Maryina Horka in the Minsk region.

These officers serve in units stationed at Poland and Lithuania's borders.

For over two years, thousands of migrants have been attempting to illegally cross the border with Poland and the Baltic states from Belarusian territory.
