The collapse occurred at 8:27 pm., trapping dozens inside. Despite warnings to avoid the tent poles, many remained inside, believing it to be safe. Initial reports indicated 15 injuries, but later updates confirmed 34 injuries.

According to information released by Slovakia's emergency medical services on Saturday morning, two young women suffered more severe injuries, including fractures to their pelvis and lumbar spine.

“Twenty-eight injuries were minor, mostly lacerations, and one injury was of moderate severity, involving a hip fracture,” said the festival’s chief physician, Jaroslav Vidan, adding that all the injured people were transported to hospitals.

Organizers suspended the festival around 8 p.m. on Friday due to the storm, canceling it officially four hours later.

Festival goers began leaving immediately after the storm, causing traffic jams. Trenčín city provided additional bus services and opened a sports hall for those without accommodation.

Slovakian police have said that they launched a criminal investigation into the incident.

Bus services between the airport and Trenčín train station have increased. The city of Trenčín provided a sports hall for festival attendees who were unable to find lodging.

Ten evacuation buses carrying festival attendees to different cities in Slovakia, such as Bratislava and Košice, were funded by Slovenská sporitečňa, one of the biggest banks in the country.

Performers such as Fallgrapp have opted to forgo their performance fees to support the festival, with comedian Fero Joke praising Pohoda as an "island of freedom, respect, and fun." Last year, the festival suffered a loss of €900,000, according to the Sme daily and this year's premature ending of the festival may lead to the worsening of financial problems.

During the 2009 edition of the festival, a thunderstorm and powerful gale-force winds caused significant damage to a tent at the Pohoda festival leading to its collapse.

Jakob Bossert, the head of the German firm Laudauer-Weihnachtscircus, which had been responsible for constructing the tent, faced charges related to endangering public safety.

Two festival attendees lost their lives in the incident, and numerous others were injured. It took nearly a decade for a judge to determine who was to blame for the tragedy. The firm had to pay €33,000 in damages to the Pohoda organizers.
