This decision was announced on Monday following a
meeting between Polish President Andrzej Duda and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping in Beijing.
Beijing’s visa-free travel program allows citizens with ordinary passports to travel to China without visas for up to 15 days for business, tourism, family and transit purposes.
Beijing says the program aims to boost post-pandemic tourism in China and strengthen ties with other nations.
In November, China introduced visa-free travel on a one-year trial basis for citizens of France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Malaysia.
In March, the program expanded to include Ireland, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Hungary - the only Eastern European country on the list. Recently, visas were also lifted for citizens of Australia and New Zealand following the Chinese prime minister’s visit to Canberra.
Beijing initially announced the visa-free policy for a trial period until November 30 this year, but in May extended it until December 31, 2025.
Last December, Chinese authorities also announced a temporary 25% reduction in visa fees for travelers from Poland.
